The Daily care centre “Little Friends” 

 

The project is financed by the programme RO10,,Children and young people at risk, local and regional initiatives for reducing national inegalities to promote social inclusion,,(CORAI), financed by SEE grants. Its main objectives are:

• to improve the situation of children and young people at social risk(having a special focus on Rroma people).

• To develop ideas in order to reduce inegualities;

• To to prevents the discrimination of vulnerable social group from economical and social exclusion.

 

The CORAI programme contributes to  the general  objectives of Financial Mechanism of European Economical Space,in order to reduce the social and economical disparities in Europe and to streghten the bilateral relations betrveen Romanian and the Donor countries:Norway,Iceland,Liechtenstein.

 

The value of the project is 862868,62 RON

 

The aim of the project,

 -to improve the access to education for Rroma children from the neighboarhood called dallas situated in the village of Veseus ,belonging to Jidvei ,country of Alba that are ot risk of early school dropout,through active involvement  of thein parents and socila services moviders and this new founded Daily,care centre Little friends

-to increase  the level of education of childern at risk of early school dropout

-to improve and to develop the civic qualities of people for inclusion  in a modern and flexible  labor market by providing  them a free acces to education and thus  reducing early school dropout.

 

The objectives of the project:

• To found a Daily care  that will provide formal an non-formal education services,educational support for 129 childern,50 young people and 60 parents in which are 45 women from Veseus ,county of Alba for a period of 18 months.

• To avoid early school dropout  by offering some chances to attend compulsory education for 129 childern (72 of them girls) from Veseus,village of Jidvei,by creating some personal development ,orientation and guidance services acording to their specific needs  for a period of 18 months

• To increase the school graduation with 70% and to reduce the early school dropout  with 50% during the project implementation among school-age Rroma childern from Veseus.

 

Short term  quantitative results:

-the foundadtion of a community service Daily care centre called „Little Friends”

-a number of 129 pre-school childern will take part in educational activities organised by this Daily care centre

-a number of 129 childern (of witch 72 are girls) will benefit  of psyco-pedagogical and specialized assistance in order to reduce absenteeism with 30% compared to previous year.

-to reduce early scool dropout among Rroma childern with 50% compared to the previous school year before the beginning of the project

-50 young  people,30 of withc are women,will be beneficiaries of a conseling and educational program.

-60 adults,45 of witch are women,parents of childern enrolled  in this daily care center will benefit  from parental education.

-30 people will benefit  from  proffesional  training,15 trainers (the staff of daily care center,teachers from school,educators from kindergarten,social workers,mediators) and 15 volunteers.

Shot term qualitative results:

-incereasing the efficency of school system by sistematic attendance of school and kindergarten and decreasing early school dropout.

-increasing specialists profesional skills who work with childern belonging to vulnerable social groups in order to integrate them  in a democratic society

-stimulating  volunteering for the benefit  of childern.

Long-term  qunatitative results

At least60 pre-school childern will benefit from the activities of this Daily care centre(Little friends) each year.

At least 129 childern will benefit from complementary services given  by the daily care centre (educational conselling,school and professional orientation)

The school dropout rate,after this project will be over,will decrease with at least 10% each year from the previous year

At least of 70% of beneficiaries will aquire properly skills and behaviors for at least a problem they had before taking part in this project.

30% increase in intent  towards school,in training  childern ,young people an parents that are the beneficiaries of this conselling programme.

80% increase level of awarness  of educational need of Rroma families  and Rroma community trough participating of a number of 60 adults,parents in parental  training courses.

The training  courses for proffesionals and volunteers will include themes and inclusive educational courses which will support and find measures to prevent and to reduce the factors and causes of school dropout among schoolage Rroma Childern.

Long-therm  qualitative results

A 5 year long term support and review of the Local Action Plan depending on the local needs.

This service will adapt its cacacity if the local needs evolution and it will be supported by the local authorities

The social services are adapted to the childern’s needs and to theirs  families needs .They will have an integrated approach through means formed by social worker specialits,medical specialits and teachers in order to implement  educational ,health and personalized intervention.

The project will promote fratenity and social volunteering values within the comunity by involving young rroma people as future volunteers.
